2026 Winner: Mitchell Morrill Ministerial Association

ACH Seeds has selected the Mitchell Morrill Ministerial Association as one of six Homegrown Giving award recipients, providing funding to support hunger relief, youth nutrition and community outreach programs serving Mitchell, Morrill, Lyman and Henry, Nebraska.

For nearly two decades, the Mitchell Morrill Ministerial Association has united five local churches in a shared mission to serve neighboring communities. The organization helps address food insecurity through its food pantry and student backpack program.

Unlike traditional food pantries with scheduled hours, MMMA offers a flexible, volunteer-led approach that allows residents to request assistance when they need it most.

A dedicated phone line connects individuals directly with volunteers, who coordinate personalized pickup times to ensure food is delivered quickly and conveniently.

Rising food costs continue to place increased pressure on local food assistance programs, while ongoing drought conditions across western Nebraska are creating economic uncertainty for agricultural communities and the seasonal workforce that supports the sugarbeet industry.
