2025 Winner: Barnesville Area Food Pantry

Our 2025 ACH Seeds Homegrown Giving winner in the Minn-Dak region is the Barnesville Area Food Pantry. This pantry has become a lifeline in Clay County for the over 450 households that it serves. Through its food shelf, school backpack program, and summer lunch program, it ensures that children and families in the community have access to nutritious meals year-round.

The funding will allow BAFP to stock more nutritious food items, maintain its weekend meal program for students during the school year and continue serving children who rely on the summer lunch program when school is out.

In 2024 alone, the food pantry distributed nearly 30,000 pounds of food to more than 1,000 individuals and served 2,259 lunches to children during the summer program. The weekend backpack program supports approximately 30 students, a number that continues to grow each year.
